Introduction
I had to "dispose" a few big switches of my employer recently. On of them stood out by it's unpleasant burning smell when powered up, as a modder it's my duty to find out where that came from! |
 | You can see clearly that something's wrong with this power supply. It's amazing that it still works. That resistor is no longer connected to the circuit paths! |
 | The resistor already falls off when looking at it |
 | Surprisingly no other parts have been damaged |
 | This needs some creativity :-) The surrounding circuit paths had to be repaired |
 | DON'T handle 250VDC like this! |
 | A test run without severe problems and for security reasons only with a fan connected |
