The Borer-Mobile served his owner (Borer) for a long time (2 years).
It took him and some friends to Cannes, Paris, Milano, Ticino and the German freeway to driving at high speeds!

Until one day... On April 5, 2000, at 13.44 Kleinert and Mohler noticed a rust-like liquid leaking from the car... the bad news: irreparable damage made by cooling water because of some rusted out overpressure bolts in the motor.
From now on he had to constantly add new water.
It was clear that it was time for a new Borer-Mobile (check Borers Golf).
After that the Carina was driven for the last time!
The industrial area Schoren in Arlesheim was a good place to step on the gas. Even Kleinert was allowed to drive(!)
Later, it was time for the junkyard!

Borer also made a cool online game featuring his car. You find it at http://blueparadise.8m.com.

The following pictures could be made its horrible death:
(We're afraid there are no pictures or videos of that wrecking session.)

carina9.jpgThe most interesting characteristic (besides the strange clutch) were the rear lights and the giant rear window.
